How to Prepare Your Home for a Mobile Hairdresser Visit

If you're booking your first mobile hairdresser appointment, you might be wondering what you need to do to get ready. The good news is – very little! As a mobile hairdresser in Aylesbury, I bring everything needed for the appointment with me. Here's a simple guide to what helps.

What I Bring to Every Appointment

First, let's clarify what you don't need to provide. I arrive fully equipped with:

• Professional cutting scissors and tools
• Portable hair dryer and diffuser
• Professional curling tongs, straighteners and styling tools as needed
• A portable wash basin for shampooing (for cut and blow-dry or colour appointments)
• All shampoos, conditioners and hair treatments
• Colour products, foils and mixing equipment
• A cutting cape
• Towels

So there's no need to worry about having the "right" products or equipment at home.

Choosing a Suitable Space

The most practical thing you can do is identify a good spot in your home for the appointment. What works well:

• A kitchen or dining room chair – straight-backed, without arms if possible
• A position near a plug socket for the dryer and styling tools
• Good lighting – natural daylight is ideal for colour work, or a bright room with good overhead lighting
• Reasonably easy access to a sink for shampooing (the portable basin can be used near any sink)

For Colour Appointments

If you're having a colour treatment, good ventilation is helpful – particularly for keratin treatments or strong colour processes. Simply opening a window in the room is usually sufficient. Don't worry about protecting floors or surfaces – I bring everything needed to keep things clean.

Have Your Inspiration Ready

If you have photos of a style or colour you love, have them ready to show me at the start of the appointment. Pinterest boards, Instagram screenshots or magazine images all work perfectly. The more clearly you can show me what you're aiming for, the better I can tailor the result to your vision.
